Good Morning! Gearing up for another school year, I figured I would TRY and get a head start on things and go back to school shopping this weekend. Weeell, it's Sunday and I still have yet to do it! lol! Where does the weekend go? Is it my imagination, are the weekends getting shorter? Still waiting to hear from my daughter's school regarding the cluster program, I had suggested a meet & greet, with the students, teachers and parents......hmmmm, no response as of yet! That's OK, I will just add this to my list of keep digging, until you get the information you need! Hope everyone has a great week!

Good Morning! It seems lately, that my daughter and I are butting heads. We have our good days and then we have our bad days, where we can't agree on ANYTHING! I think my daughter is also developing early, which means hellllloooo hormones! Does anyone out there have any advice on this? I think she may also be right around the corner from starting her period. I am trying to talk to her as much as I can, trying to prepare her, I don't want her to have any surprises. Any advice would be appreciated! Have a great day everyone!

Going on week 3 of the summer classes for my daughter, I swear she is talking MORE! LOVE IT! I am so thankful, that she is getting the help she needs AND deserves! Now that I know about this program, I am going to hang onto it and make sure she stays in this program! I am also thankful, that she has her family behind her, supporting and loving her! Have a great weekend everyone!

Good Morning! Since my daughter's been in her summer classes, I have noticed an increase in the speaking department! I was told at this point do not correct her, she needs to feel comfortable speaking FIRST! This has been music to my ears, I have also been helping her to say "Can you help me"? Instead of I forget. This is going very well for her, I just wish we had more time, 1 month is not long enough. I am hoping this will carry over into the school year! Mom on a Mission, how are you doing? P.S. I LOVE your user name!!

I love hearing about these power stories about our kids! So inspiring! If I am ever having a bad day, I look at all the good I am doing for my child, and it makes it ALL worthwhile! My goal for my child is to have her feel comfortable with herself and just have the conversation flow for her. We played a pretend game yesterday, and she designated who was going to be what, she was the "Mom" and I was the "Cat"! She had a blast and it was a good learning tool for her.

I wanted to share a piece of news, both personal AND educational..... My daughter performed a few weeks back, in front of her peers and parents! I'm sure other bloggers out there know this is HUGE! What a confidence builder AND she had FUN! So proud of her! If you're looking into additional help for your child, try your local university. They may offer additional summer classes, with specialists! As always, be persistent! I don't think the word NO, is in our vocabulary! :)

Good Morning! I wanted to share a piece of good news! My daughter is getting some additional help over the summer! I just kept calling and calling, keeping her name fresh with them and it worked out for the best! Also, in talking with some friends, a few more doors were opened, and I got a little more information. What really stands out for me, is that I found out the more I speak out about it, the more information comes my way. Hmmmmmm, food for thought! I am soo thankful for ANY information, because I will take it and run with it! :) Keep that information coming!!!!! Have a great day everyone!

Update on my child's oral report, she got 100%!!! I was a little worried, especially on the oral part, but she had been practicing and was very confident. I had her read her oral part off of index cards. That seemed to really help her, it allowed her to focus on a small part and it was not overwelming! Congrats to her!

Aaaahhh, day 3 of blogging, I think I finally got the hang of this. Came across some interesting information, the other day(by chance), found out my daughter's school is starting a cluster program. This will be perfect for her(and hopefully other's), however I would not know this because it's not going to be advertised, if not for word of mouth. Word of mouth is a powerful thing

Hi Everyone! I am new to blogging, I am starting here in hopes of creating a wonderful way to share information, and even get some ideas. My 8 year old daughter has developmental delay, I have been looking for assistance for her for a few years now, in hopes of getting any additional help for her. I have applied everywhere from State funding, to school assistance. What I keep running into is wall after wall. She does not have any medical issues, therefore she is deemed ineligible for these services that could greatly benefit her! The other half of the issue, is when services do become available, I am the last one to know! It seems that it's a big secret, when this information should be readily available! Sound off to me, if you're running into this, while looking for some much needed help!
