Good Morning! I wanted to share a piece of good news! My daughter is getting some additional help over the summer! I just kept calling and calling, keeping her name fresh with them and it worked out for the best! Also, in talking with some friends, a few more doors were opened, and I got a little more information.  What really stands out for me, is that I found out the more I speak out about it, the more information comes my way.  Hmmmmmm, food for thought! I am soo thankful for ANY information, because I will take it and run with it! :) Keep that information coming!!!!! Have a great day everyone!

  1. Hi there. I have a son with Down Syndrome who is 8 years old and a daughter who has a learning disability along with many other issues going on. On this journey I have personally found that word of mouth and just talking to others is the best way to find stuff out. I know it is so tiring but we have to keep trying for our kids. I am not a very confrontational Mom so this tends to hurt me sometimes. The trouble I have is where to go and what protocol to follow. Especially in the public schools. This is our first year in public schools. It has been a wonderful year for my daughter but not the best for my son. Just wanted to share with everyone to share, share, share. Knowledge is power and we all need it!!

  2. Good Morning Mom on a Mission!
Thank you for your response, I have come across alot of frustration on my journey, but you're right, you keep going and going, for the sake of your child(children). Part of the frustration on my end is, a starting point? You want to help them, but you don't know where to begin and it seems like your always having to dig for information that turns out to be right at your finger tips! I have come across alot of information and support for my daughter by chance and it's frustrating that I didn't know about this before. I have found myself that word of mouth is the best, alot of people did not know of my daughter's learning disability until I spoke about it. Does the public school you're children are in, offer special classes for them?
    Have a great day!
